US SOCCER
DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY

DEVELOPMENT

The US Soccer Development Academy mission is "a program that provides education, resources, and support to impact everyday club environments that will develop world-class players."

INCREASED TRAINING & MORE MEANINGFUL GAMES

The USSDA is a partnership between the USSF and select clubs around the nation to increase training time, less total games and more meaningful games.

To maintain focus on training, Academy teams participate in four trainings a week throughout a 10-month season. Due to the increased training requirements, FCGS is able to provide even more including: sports performance training, futsal, and video analysis.

Each academy team plays approximately more than 40 games a season according to FIFA re-entry rules against the top youth clubs in the country. The USSDA is an extremely exclusive selective national league consisting of 103 participating in the U13/14, U15/16 and U17/18 clubs.

PLAYER IDENTIFICATION/SCOUTING

Most USSDA games and showcases are observed and evaluated by a US Soccer National Team Staff member. Since 2007, 2,000 instances of players from 72 different Academy clubs have been called into Youth or Senior National Team events. Academy Showcases and games are premier scouting events for colleges. Games are regularly scouted by college coaches with the USSDA showcase regularly boasting 400-500 college coaches.
